I opted to buy tire plug kit. $2.49 including tools, plugs (5) and cement.
If needed, can plug tire, use compressor tyo inflate. No need for hauling another tire around.
Would feel like the 5th wheel.

Puncture plugs and tire goop are fine ( I carry both)...if all you have is a simple puncture. If you have a more serious failure, you are at the mercy of Porsche roadside assistance and a replacement tire actually being available.
I carry a spare* if I am going on a distant trip......
*includes a jack, lug wrench, etc.

I picked up a front rim and wheel off ebay from a wrecked car and works well. I only have to buy a suitable jack for the kit I put together. I am debating on regular scissor jack or a 911 jack like the one in this thread. I will use for long trips as I don't want to get stranded in the Arizona desert or anywhere between here and the Rockies I road trip frequently.

Any suggestions for compact jack? I was thinking a bottle jack even but not sure. I have the tire mounted (same as current daily Michellins), a breaker bar and 19mm socket, wheel patch kit for hole repair so far. A jack and a tie down is all that is left. My experience with my Saab and Benz are complete destruction of the sidewall so I won't travel far from home without a full-size spare.

I paid $379 with free shipping on ebay for a 20x9.5 inch Panamera wheel and tire with 70% read life left in the same size as my current setup. Not bad. Even has tpms installed.

Part number for only the OEM 970 scissor jack is "971-011-031", if you are interested. A piece of 3/4" plywood for stability underneath the jack would be helpful on uneven/unstable surfaces. A pair of
wheel bolt guides wheel bolt guides
is also helpful.

Questions.
1. What happens to the sealant that makes it expire?
2. I know you should not exceed 50 MPH on a sealant repaired tire.
What is the approximate distance you can drive on a sealant repaired tire? For example, could one drive a distance? Does the sealant hold up overnight if needed? (Dealer not open, etc.)
I hope to never need it, but knowing what to expect would be useful.
Suncoast parts says - Tire Sealant has an expiration date! Check yours! Porsche recommends replacing tire sealant every four years. The expiration date is caused by the thermal and time-related aging properties of included polymers. After the expiration date the performance of the tire sealant is reduced or impossible.

Porsche part #Compact Spare Part #970-362-050-00 Will go on on either front or rear, get a low profile flex jack and you are safe to go. All very compact and offers more security than sealant.

I like the idea of the compact spare tire noted above. My wheels are 20" and the 20" compact spare (970-362-070-00) costs 2X that of 050-00. Any idea if i could still run the 970-362-050-00?

what's a low profile flex jack? Now that I do have a full size spare, I'm looking to complete the necessary accessories for changing a tire. The oem jack is over $200, so hoping for something a little less expensive. (should have pilfered the jack out of my 911 as it could have been compatible)

I bought a 911 jack with the foam insert off ebay for $100. fits perfectly in the side 'pocket space' of the the hatch. cheater bar, piece of small plywood for the jack, and socket in with the bose amp/battery area. I am guessing flex jack is a scissor jack?

Make sure that what ever jack you purchase has adequate lift capacity.

Here is my spare tire for the Panamera:

Combined with the air compressor, I have no need for spare tire.

Have you tested the 911 jack on your panamera? Indeed there are plenty of them on ebay.

I put a piece of plywood 6"x6" or so for support if on dirt just case also in the car.
