Default Looking to buy first panamera. Any advice?

Team,
A good friend of mine has asked me to help him buy his first porsche a panamera. His budget is $61k. He is not coming from a sports car. Is the S model necessary or will the standard model seem fast enough. He will keep car 10 or more years. He drives under 10k a year. Any must have features? Any features to stay away from? Thank you for the assistance.

Depends on location. RWD only models would be great if friend lives in warm only climate-- plus they are much cheaper. Personally, love the V8 found in S or GTS models, pre 2014. so if in the budget would recommend that engine. After owning several Pans, biggest options that are must have are rear camera and the side warning feature. Also, the base radio blows. CPO is also a must, crazy expensive to fix. Hope that helps.

wow, $61k would place him with reasonably optioned S in the 2014 MY and some warranty left over. That's a pretty decent budget.

2014 S are probably a decent buy for some performance. I would aim for cars with at least Premium Package.

My guess then is the standard model would be fine. In that budget you can get a nicer lower mileage standard Pana. Maybe even a Pana 4 if needed with some nice options. I came out of a 911 and my Pana 4 is fine. Nice smooth quiet ride and gets decent MPGs, good in winter weather.
