Even when new, factory style fabric mesh lined rubber hoses are prone to expansion under the pressure of hard braking, whether it be highway panic stops or threshold braking at the track. This expansion is even more prominent in aged and weathered rubber hoses. Our lines are braided with stainless steel mesh, affording expansion resistance. This resistance to expansion creates a firmer pedal, and more direct pedal feel.

Additionally, exposure to the elements can cause rubber lines to soften and swell over time, increasing the potential for a soft, mushy brake pedal, or worse, complete failure. ECS Exact-Fit stainless reinforced lines, however, are coated in out signature red vinyl to provide protection from the elements, and prevent this type of failure.

The steel braiding won't allow the brake lines to expand as much as rubber lines. When brake hoses expand, it creates a squishy feeling in the pedal, and reduces the effectiveness of your braking, since some of the force is applied to expanding the hoses, rather than pushing the pads against the rotors. This gives you a better pedal feel. They also should last you the life of the car with out any problems.
