Also you'll likely have to unscrew the hood locking mechanism to get access. Swapped out a Silver Crest for the OEM one on my wife's and had to do that to get to the tapping nuts/screws. Looks nice tho.

I presumed 971 and 970 have similar if not the same hood latch. The latch is secured by 3 screws. Once loosen, and before you remove the screws, the latch can slide left/right. Best is to use a white marker to mark the screw position on the latch before you loosen them. It is very straight forward and easy.
I am surprised though that someone can pry off the hood crest, did your hood sustain any damage as a result of that?

I remember the days when people would pry Honda emblems off and I've heard of some RR owners having the Spirit of Ecstasy taken but this is the first I've heard of a Porsche emblem one.
I thought of replacing mine's since part of it has peeled but decided against it.
