With the older 115 inches wheelbase it still broke the record previously held by this one which was only 98 inches. So apparently the reason for the upcoming extension is not this.
Any ideas? Room for batteries? Kids growing faster?
New Phaeton? : )

I'll bet they're moving toward a platform that would suit the upcoming Lambo Estoque which has a 118-inch wheelbase on the prototype.

this was just launched in 2010 and facelift already in 2012? then new gen model in 2014? but i guess even if that happens, good thing about porsche is they always look similar..
and i thought some CEO from porsche said before that they were going to discontinue panamera after the current model..

I guess to stereotype the "short" chinese want a "stretch" panamera. I read in something (Panorama?) that in China, Porsche is seen as an "suv" company that also makes sports cars, not as a sports car company that starting doing silly things ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
So.. V6, V8, Turbo, eventually a Tubo S, Hybrid, then add "L" variations, maybe a convertible and 928 sucessor and wow.. you've got as many variations of this car as the 911

it's obvious that porsche will care about china market more than usa market when the americans are so broke now... chinese may still be short in your naive perspective, but definitely not for those who know what's going on in the world...
