FVD Brombacher - Panamera Turbo - FLASHABLE SOFTWARE RELEASE!!
Well, I cannot tell you how pleased we are to release this one!! In all seriousness, this project has been going on now for over 1 year. For all who know this ECU backwards and forwards this is not a small achievement. I want to give the guys at FVD Germany some extremely large props for this one, they worked extremely hard to bring this to market the right way. As many of you know, most in the industry have been tuning with external “Piggy Back” units. We were opposed to this from the very beginning and chose not to rush to market with this car. Here are our results....
FVD Panamera Turbo Level 1 Power Kit (Software with a drop in BMC filter):
Factory Panamera Turbo in normal mode based on Porsche AG #’s:
Max. Power - 368kW (500HP) @ 6500rpm
Max. Torque - 700Nm (516 lb ft) @ 2250-4500rpm
Max. Speed - 303km/h (188 mph)
Max. RPM - 6500rpm
Acceleration 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) - 4.2s
FVD Level 1 Power Kit (Normal mode or Cars without the Sport Chrono)*:
Max. Power - 434kW (590HP) @ 6200rpm
Max. Torque - 780Nm (575 lb ft) @ 3000-5000rpm
Max. Speed - 315km/h (195 mph)
Max. RPM - 6800rpm
Acceleration 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) - 4.0s
Highlights:
- Not a “Piggy Back” or external unit that is plugged into the factory ECU. Our software runs on the ECU directly! See more below on why this was so important to us.*
- Dyno Proven and comprehensively tested on the Autobahn and under daily driving conditions.
- Software is completely reversible
- All of the factory engine software safety features are fully intact
- Customizable for your needs (intakes, Bypass - 100 cell - 200 cell exhausts, etc.)

**The Piggy Back option was not for us and here are our thoughts on the subject:
FVD Brombacher has extensively researched many programming options for the Panamera Turbo. We have been working on this project for more than a year now. Programming this ECU is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and must be done with due diligence.
Our philosophy has always been to extract the most power out of a Porsche while never sacrificing reliability, drivability and safety. We researched and tested several Piggy Back units but in the end they did not meet our criteria. We decided against them for a number of reasons.
It is very difficult to adjust ignition timing on DFI (Direct Fuel Injection) Porsche’s with a Piggy Back Unit due to the combination of sensors that have to be taken into account (cam angle sensors, O2 sensors, knock sensors, rpm sensors, etc.) The OEM Panamera Turbo has thousands of different map variations for different conditions, our software has over a 100 + maps that complement those variations. We found that Piggy Back units only allowed us to use 10% of our maps.
So simply put there is very little control with the Piggy Back units. The end result was that the cars suffered from a host of problems like rough idle, check engine lights, etc. FVD Germany felt that the Piggy Back units did not meet our criteria. We felt that our customers deserved more, so we continued working on a flashable solution that was not a compromise. After a years worth of effort we have the first flashable software on the market which is pure unadulterated Panamera Turbo Software Perfection!
Then we put the FVD Brombacher complete exhaust system on the car and got the following results:

Currently the ECU must be removed and sent to us currently in order to be bench flashed at FVD Germany. ETA is 4-5 days. Having said that, we are diligently working on a OBD2 port flashing solution. I will keep you posted.
