Anyone with 19" or 20" summer wheels use 18" wheels for snow tires? Happy with this combo? Any advantages or disadvantages (besides looks)?
I'm running 19s on the P4 but 18" take-offs are plentiful and inexpensive. Need to start thinking about winter before the rush...

I have a set of 18's for my P4S but haven't had a chance to use them yet. I upgraded my car to the 20" Spyder wheels, so dealer threw into the deal a set of 18" wheels, TPMS, and the 18" Contact tires. I don't need the tires so will be looking to sell them. I already bought a set of Pirelli 240 Sottozero snow tires from Tire Rack, which are the only set of 18" snows I could find from any source in the appropriate sizes. They're all at my tire shop now, waiting for fall.
I live in Southern California (no snow here) but commute regularly on ski trips to the Sierras. I've owned nothing but Audi Quattro's for the last 24 years, so I've always had awd and snow tires for winter. Over the years I've bought lots of different snow tires but my favorites are the Nokian Hakkapelliitta's. If they ever come out with them in Panamera sizes, I'll switch in a heartbeat.

I have 18" stock rims with winter Pirelli tires and 20" spider rims with Michelin pilot tires. Both work fine during their respective seasons. The 18s obviously dont look as nice and they ride softer. However, I can compensate by stiffening the air suspension.

I decided to go with the 18s and the Sottozeros. Now to scare up some TPMS sensors...
