I'd like to get into a 971 at some point, and it's not aesthetics holding me back, bit I prefer the tail of the 970 to the 971.

Zombie thread.
The 970 looks just fine the way it is. Its form follows function at its finest. Its not proportionally perfect, and that's ok. They are basically station wagons / shooting breaks, and didn't try to hid that fact by reducing the rear head room to an unusable space for some kind of 4 door coupe look.
I still think they look better in person. I still think the 970 has one of the best looking, feeling, and functionally arrayed interiors ever conceived in a car....ever. At a time where everyone started having hard ons for the "ipad on the dash" touch screen look, or joystick controllers with 24 menus to get to everything, the 970 has the perfect blend of old school and new school. It works, and it doesn't feel outdated even in 2019.
I do think the 971 is an improvement in looks on the outside. Its a great balance of function to the form, to smooth out the rear end. I really love the giant turbo retractable wing as well. Other than the obvious tech advancement, I don't think the new interior is a step up at all. I don't even think it feels as high end, but that's just me.

It's hard to believe you care much about the car with 14 posts prior to this resurrection which kinda leaves just the saying you think you were right thing doesn't it? Where I'm going with that is that you have to have something better to do with your time than this little bit of necrophilia.

Muller makes more sense than this post.

The OP had 14 posts when he posted his 15th which resurrected his ten year old thread. From this I infer no concern about the car itself and the return was due to wanting to say "I told you so" "neener, neener" or something along those lines. I think he probably had better things to do; in fact everyone probably has better things to do than re-open a thread they started 10 years ago about something they clearly don't care about just to say "neener, neener" to forum members they don't know and will never meet. I'm honestly not trying to be a Richard when I say I"m not sure what isn't clear about my post?
