I'm starting to like it. Anyone catch the rear spoiler for the T in the latest Panorama? It raises and then expands towards the side of the car for added surface area.

What's the deal with the headlights? They look like after thoughts. It looks as though the seals don't even line up with the bumper cover. Yuck. Nothing flush or fluid about them. I'm not a fan. Love Porsche...don't love the Panamera.

There's nothing exciting about the front-end styling at all. It's so non-descript and bland to me. The actual driving experience won't change that, at least for me.

Just the right economy for a car like this. If you do something well, keep doing it.

Wow...I hate to think what kind of reception these cars are getting from non-P-car fans...the villagers are gathering torches and pitchforks in Zuffenhausen, lol!!

Interesting..the engine lid(front) looks a bit ala corvette..the sides have the Infiniti FX45 gills and the rear is sought of SAABISH...but who knows in the flesh(or metal) the car might(and I stress the word might be..ahem..appealing).

I guess different strokes for different folks. The challenge I see for Porsche with this model is the economy. I'm sure time will tell....

I suspect this car will fill a niche in the Porsche lineup like the Jaguar XJS; a Porsche coupe suggests to some people a striving for lost youth; this one suggests a certain level of wealth. A Benz sedan, only less pedestrian, is the market I believe Porsche is trying for. That demographic usually manages to retain a certain standard of living even in the worst of times, unless the locale is a place overtaken by direst calamity, such as Sarajevo. Anyone remember what a beautiful city it was when it hosted the Winter Olympics not so long ago? Is a four-door sedan such a stretch after an SUV??

My .02 worth.

I like it but I also love my 928 GTS and my Cayenne Turbo. Not as much as my 94 3.6T but they are tremendous autos and serve a purpose a 911 can never fill.

I applaud Porsche for doing a far better job than anyone including myself thought they would. Its biggest downside is cost. It is too pricey for this economy and as usual I would only be interested in the turbo model. If it depreciates as much as my CT I might be picking one up used in a few years. Of course I have to drive it first but I am sure it does what it is supposed to do.

For the record my GTS is no less reliable than any other Porsche I have owned and that is far more than in my signature. I did have a euro 928 that had electrical issues but that was because the PO messed with the wiring. If the Panamera drives like the 928 at high speeds it will be one great GT. The 928 GTS is one of the nicest high speed driving cars I have owned or driven and I have driven numerous cars over the years. Absolutely a pleasure on open roads and far better than any 911 or almost any car for just cruising.

Anthony, Like you I too have a mix of these cars. What I started on was 911's. The one's I could afford, SC's 964's and such. Never a turbo unfortunately, as that may have changed my mind. I made the fatal mistake of agreeing to work on a 928 ( euro S, 83'). I was amazed at the engineering on the car and always thought that they were inferior to the 911 (peer pressure!) The more I studied the car the more enamored I became at this incredible design. I drove this car at the behest of the owner with the instruction to thoroughly flog it, as the owner said the car was a rock that I couldn't hurt it. So there I was on 140 Md. flogging it 6500 rpm shifts and power everywhere. Nothing seemed to unsettle it, behaved much better than any 911 I've put a key to. I drive these almost exclusively now and cannot understand why anyone would call the 928 a mistake when it was Porsche's self-titled flag-ship for 19 years. It has received more accolades than any 911 from all the important outlets. Today the 911 has evolved into what is basically a 928 technologically speaking, yet these "purists" continue to run it down. Ferry himself would call that out as ignorance. He LOVED the 928, and drove one personally as did most of the execs at that time. Their 911's were in the garage for when they felt like playing, just like mine is.
