Maybe you guys are missing the point? The porsche faithful are not those who follow fashion, style or whim. No. The Porsche faithful are made of a person who appreciates a different approach, and yes racing success through power, but first and foremost reliability, strength, and endurance. True? The 911 (914, 924, etc included) is not, has never been a knock out in style. You can argue that it's got a nastolgic, classic shape, but compare it to its contemporary competitors, and you will find that rarely, if ever, was the 911 judged by the masses as the bast looking of the lot. So why now must the Panamera be the block buster in styling for the faithful to EVEN GIVE IT A CHANCE? I like the Panmera. And I do hope that Porsche can come up with a design (aesthetic, dynamic, and otherwise) that will appeal to those with the right pocket books. The success of this and other Porsche products that are not motorsport focused are there to feed R&D for motorsport projects. So, Porsche faithful, please give the Panamera a chance before you judge? Be patient! After all, time will tell.

You mean like the LMP2 RS Spyder? Oh wait, no one is racing that next year.

It's hideously ugly
It's based on the Cayenne
The rear was stolen from a Chrysler Crossfire
I think they fumbled the ball on this one. The Panamera has some stiff competition in this segment. The side view of the car with it's bulbous back is, to say the least, ugly. This is definitely a car that I would not buy.
i own a 944, i like almost all Porsche's produced...this just doesn't do it. they're putting out a car, that i really don't think many people ever asked for them to build.
as for the hight thing, is it supposed to be like the x6 from bmw?

I don't think many people asked them to build a RWD/Front engine car like the 944 or 928; but they did. And many 911 enthusiasts barked when those cars came out.
How about the 924-man that car pissed A LOT of Porsche people off. LOL

PS. I think the M1 Rifle is more reliable then the 944.....
If it was an attractive car, I would want to buy it. So would many true Porsche fans, as a DD. However, it isn't. And there are a number of competitive cars that look much better. Also, this is not the right economy for a GT 4 passenger.
Nonetheless, at a worldwide production of 20,000 per year, Porsche will find more than enough customers to absorb the supply. The same ones who love Louis Vutton, etc. designer brands ....but let's not get into ethnic or socioeconomic stereotypes...
