I dont think its 100% necessary especially if you put in the same exact spec battery. Now it becomes a quest to figure it out.

My battery wasn't the exact same battery. I switched to a lithium through antigravity. I think the coding is more for Porsche to keep track on what you're doing with the car in case something goes wrong. My new GT3RS lithium prevents using other types of lithium batteries.

Yeah I have that Li battery in the blue Turbo S. Looking at the Antigravity conversion kit as soon as I sniff a problem with the Porsche Li battery.
