970 - Front wheel "grabbing" during lock turns
Hi all,
Got an interesting issue with my 970 turbo. The front left wheel appears to be "grabbing" and dynamically changing the toe when I get anywhere near full lock. This doesn't feel like just Ackerman effect, it's way more pronounced on the left than the right, and it make the whole car judder. I've had a mechanic shop check out all of the bushes and suspension components and they can find nothing. The CV's have been inspected and again, nothing. I'm having new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres fitted next Tuesday to see if that makes a difference, but short of starting just random suspension component swapping, does anybody know what this could be? It feels pretty damn brutal when its doing it and sounds it as well. I want to use the car but I equally don't want to cause a load of damage if it is something major. I'm thinking of just changing out the upper control arms, lower wishbones, drop links, and stabiliser bar bushes and then re-torquing all the subframe bolts, but that's an expense and process I would rather avoid if this is somehow either normal behaviour (doubtful) or something simple.
The car has done 50k miles and has been sat for 5 years. I've just replaced the left drive shaft support bearing and engine carrier (970 349 021 07) as the bearing had failed and damaged the housing.
Many thanks for any advice!

Did it just start? My bet is on Ackerman however. New Pilot Sport prob won’t resolve. AS’s are only solution which i recommend unless tracking car. For street use they provide 95%+ of performance as Pilots Sports. You’ll never notice the difference, eliminates Ackerman and gives you twice the tread life.
