Default Please help to identify sound

Hello,
2018 Panamera 4 E Hybrid. 56k. Amazing condition with one exception. The hoot sound when the car shifts from 2-3 and sometimes 4-5. Video of the sound attached. I have read all the posts about the hoot sound on Rennlist and have not found a fix, or the real cause of the sound. Mechatronics unit was changed out 2 weeks ago. No change. The car is at the dealer now. Going on 4 weeks! They have no idea where the sound is coming from or why. I really need the help of a Porsche expert/mechanic who has heard this before. Please let me know! Thanks

Is there any chance that's an alarm for the speed? A setting on somehow? Very strange lol

No, I don't think so. So far from my research the suspects are:
PDK - clutch packs, or other internals
Turbo Exhaust valves?

That is really all I could find.

i've listened to it over and over, same noise both times and same duration as well. That speed warning is all that comes to mind lol

This is a much better video of the sound. The first video is too high pitched. My car sound like this:

I would look at the wastegate outlet plumbing. The noise is occuring when the turbo would be venting pressure at the shift.

The sound appears to be coincidental with the drop of the tach needle. Unlike the digital speedo, the tach uses some hardware, including the needle. Something in that immediate system is all I can say.

Check things out over at the mcanforum.com - IIRC, there's a lengthy discussion of a hoot sound over there.

...wait... Here they are:

I have a 18 Turbo and with the transmission in manual mode it makes a similar hoot noise when upshifting during spirited drives. I've also noticed that the down shift from 4th to 3rd is a bit rough. It feels like there's not enough rpms during the rev match. I've resorted to lightly pressing the gas pedal when downshifting to bring the rpms up and avoid the jerkiness. Will have dealer check it out at next service.

I heard the exact same noise in my '18 4S and thought I was going crazy. It's a "hoot" like from an owl that occurs at slower speeds, typically when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Should I be concerned about this turning into some kind of bigger problem? If not, I can live with the occasional hoot.

There are a lot of posts out there about this sound. My car has had it since I bought it in February 2024 and I've added around 12,000 miles on the ODO since then. One of my turbos was replaced under the emissions warranty and I've had my PDK fluid changed. The noise remains and I'm convinced it isn't harmful.

I have this sound on my 2018 4S. It doesnt happen all the time. I took it to the dealer and of course, they could not replicate it.
