Default Exhaust questions...

Panamera 4 V6. Purchased the car with what looks like some exhaust work that has been done to it. Looks like previous owner removed the 2 smaller resonators in the center pipe and replaced both rear mufflers with smaller stainless steel units and quad tips. Looks cool, sounds great but it drones on the hwy and its a little too loud for me (guy in his mid-late 40s, done with tuner/ricer stuff).

I have purchased OEM used V8 valved mufflers and I was going to just replace both mufflers and make the valve work (using aftermarket methods).

My question is, do you think just replacing both mufflers will be enough to quiet the exhaust down a bit? Or do you think I would need to also add one of the center resonators? both?

I'm not looking to go back to stock volumes but just tone the sound down a bit especially on hwys.
