so replaced sensor and harness with new oem parts, everything back together. Let me clear p17 codes but the p18 still persistent. Calibration process is consistently failing at the beginning of the 3rd section (after you turn engine back on). Running out of ideas

For me the failed PDK calibration attempts all occurred with the bad replacement shift rod sensor. I posted a lot here on how each attempt proceeded thinking there was some hidden meaninig -- I saw the efforts going to different stages including completion and thought it all meant something. In the end it was just a no-good ****e remanufactured sensor that was never going to work. When I used a factory new OEM sensor the calibration ran quickly and smoothly to completion on first try.

yeah I got the new factory sensor from the vendor you recommended and still no luck. Have to head out of town for work for the week. Maybe it’ll just magically work when I get home I think my PIWIS is suspect though. I just ordered an otofix d1 lite as I’ve seen people confirm that will run the pdk calibration. Gonna give it a shot

Huh that's too bad. My whole experience with PIWIS is just this one job. Maybe I just got lucky. It did seems like sequence of clearing existing codes before initiating calibration was flaky - maybe make some more tries at that part.

Where'd you get a factory new OEM sensor?
