Rennlist - I am considering buying some winter wheels for my 2024 Panamera. However I am not familiar with tire and wheel sizes. Looking for recommendations on what sizes I need to be looking for. I am in Northern Indiana. Considering just buying a junker for the winter too. Any reasons why this wheel set would be a bad move?
The 20" size gives you the most tire options. The 19" size gives you a half inch more sidewall height (over the 20") which could be important if you experience larger winter potholes. Checkout possible tires available for 19" and 20" and you will see what I mean about tire options.

I have a set of 19” winters on this wheel set that I will put up for sale in a few weeks. Tires are michelin pilot alpin 4 N1 spec. Front 255-45-19, rear 285-40-19. Please PM if interested. I’m in northern IL, can meet up for sure.
I have G99 M5 Touring incoming and will sell/trade my P4ST pretty soon.
I bought a complete set of 20" turbo style with Pirelli all seasons on eBay for $2K with 70% tread left. Included hub emblems and TPMS. Probably a bit of luck but having two sets has been a boon. The 19" that came with the car have limited to no A/S tires that fit. People out in Cali apparently buy fancy aftermarket wheels and shed the OEMs to wheel dealers. Paid Discount tire $100 to dismount/mount the tires so I could have them powder coated and they have been swapping the summer/winter sets for free ever since.
I did something similar to the above poster. Looked on Kijiji (popular in Canada.. but maybe try Craigslist or FB Marketplace). Found a set of 4 Panamera "oem style" wheels in 21" with winter tires already mounted. I think he paid close to $6k Canadian and used them only one winter/9000km . I bought them for $2000-3000 cant' remember exactly. Have used them last two winters and will probably run them a 3rd winter before having to buy new tires.
This was summer of 2023 and I had just bought my car. I believe he had a 2020 that he got rid of in 2022 and had the winter tires and rims sitting in his garage.
They look completely factory although they are an aftermarket brand. Said he had bought them from a good wheel and tire shop that does lots of higher end cars. They had aftermarket center caps but I found some black caps on eBay that have the coloured Porsche logo and they fit perfectly. Unless you remember the wheel options offered in 2023 when my car was new, you would have no idea these were aftermarket rims. They look 100% factory.
So I'd suggest finding a used set if possible. If not, maybe even spring for a new set since you'll use them for years to come and it's worth it. Definitely buy a good aftermarket brand rather than OEM Porsche as they're really expensive. Try speaking to a local GOOD tire shop and get some pricing.
Each year I can bolt them on, but that started to get old years ago with my MB GL350 with the world's heaviest wheels. I have a good local shop that stores the tires for me, inspects everything, and bolts them on. In and out in 20 mins each spring and fall. But you can certainly bolt them on pretty quickly at home if you feel like, doesn't take long and only done twice a year.
