Default Question about timing tool kit.

The car came with the tool set and parts to do the chain, guides and sprockets. Unfortunately there wasn't any instructions with the tool set. From all of the videos and searches I've reviewed I can't see where two of the tool set components are used. Could anyone tell me what the short locking pin and the two flat plates with the two holes (one hole is slotted) are used for?

Thank you.

I'm still learning the car and am in the process of acquiring tools and documentation. Still searching for a safe download for the workshop manual. Suggestions welcome.

I believe those are used for a different engine.
