I personally hate the PDK transmission. Most awkward auto I've ever driven.
For me anyway, it's what I hate most about the Panamera.
I've trained my foot to drive it now, but would prefer a more conventional slushbox.

I love to see modded Panameras. They get the least amount of love in the Porsche lineup.

Did I see you and this car briefly on Legit Street Cars' YT channel?
yea that was me!!

Would love to learn more especially about how you got the Porsche ECU to work and the custom mounts for the engine, transmission and diff. Any old "in progress" pics you can share with us?
to make the Porsche ecu happy was less exciting than you might expect. I literally cut the entire engine harness off the ecu except for the coolant temp sensors, which I tied together to the one at the radiator. Oil pressure and temp sensor I added to my remote oil filter setup. And it’s happy enough to let the rest of the car work 😂. The Panamera uses a 60-2 crank reluctor so does gm. I was hoping I could just splice the crank signal unfortunately the Porsche ecu wants to see cam signal too, I can only make it read about 3 seconds.

the diff was a direct bolt in from the Bentley minus slight mods to the input flange. I learned that the Panamera diff is basically just the “VAG big car diff” so it’s in cayennes and touregs and Bentley’s and tons with all different ratios.

trans was easy I used stock cross member and made the most ghetto adapter on top 😂. Using stock trans cooler and I also looped in the power steering cooler to add more cooling. I’m using a Volvo electric power steering pump mounted under driver side headlight.

motor bolts to custom motor mounts I made that bolt to the factory motor mount positions. The interesting thing is the oil pan and all is above the crossmember it sits very high to duplicate how Porsche had the motor set in there and the weird height of the output shaft on the PDK. This let me use the stock driveshaft with a custom adapter I had made.

Agree, not a PDK fan. All transmissions “shine when driven hard”, in other words the easiest use case for the electronics and software to decide what the driver wants. In part throttle “normal driving” the car company agenda is forced on the driver which means highest numerical gear and lowest total accumulated engine revolutions to minimize fuel consumption and emissions at the expense of drivability.

You mentioned the coolant won't go over 180 in your first post. The placement of the temp sensor at the radiator is probably the reason for that. Usually these sensors are in the block or head water jackets.

Nice! I watched where Alex briefly chatted with you about this car and I was like, "WTF?!?! Why isn't Alex talking more about that thing??"

FWIW, I'm a fan of the PDK 🤷‍♀️.

I’ve got a banks can gauge I use to monitor the gm data. That’s where I monitor coolant temp and oil temp they are in the stock gm locations and read the most accurate.

Nice c-channel trans mount!

No rubber for the engine mounts?

130mph in the 1/4 is no joke.

Nice build!

Nice. This could be a great option for the hybrids which Porsche abandoned, leaving owners stuck with bricks.

Default Just what I needed

I have a 2010 Porsche Panamera that I have swapped the 6.2 and 10 speed from a 2019 Camaro into. The motor is a direct injected 6.2 LT1 with Texas speed cam and heads, c8 vette intake manifold, runs flex fuel and makes a little over 600 NA horsepower (505 to the wheels) the 10 speed is the magic of the car the close ratios of the transmission put the motor right in its power band regardless what speed it’s going, the sound is intoxicating though a fully custom corsa exhaust. And I have run 130 mph in the 1/4 mile. For those of you that are getting upset, the car had a blown PDK and a jumped timing chain so I didn’t ruin a good car! My goal with these kinds of swaps is a car that looks and drives just like it could have from the factory with that powertrain. So far I’ve driven the car about 10,000 miles. I maintained the factory cooling system which is excellent, it is difficult to get the car over 180 degrees coolant and oil temp even after beating on it for a long time on hot days. Factory A/C compressor bolted onto the Camaro bracket and with 2 custom A/C hoses works perfectly. I maintained the factory drive shaft by building a custom billet adapter and at the back of the driveshaft to match the gearing of my transmission better I swapped a rear differential from a 2001 Bentley Arnage (2.92 ratio) this diff was basically a bolt in replacement for the stock Panamera diff, I only needed to steal the pinion flange from the Panamera diff and do some light machining to get it recessed slightly more. All front suspension and subframe is stock, I made custom motor mounts that bolt to the factory motor mount provisions on the frame. As for interior I installed the Camaro shifter in place of Panamera shifter, this way I could use tap shift functions (working on making factory paddle shifters work as well) all the stock gauges function with the exception of the tach, I have done lots of testing to make it functional and determined I need to emulate the Porsche cam crank signals or find a way to manipulate the can. If anyone has a scope waveform for the cam and crank sensor i need this bad, or if anyone has knowledge of manipulating a can signal i would also be very interested!! The stock Porsche ecu is in the car still wired to make it as happy as can be, car starts with the stock Porsche key. The car is an absolute blast to drive. A real head turner and does everything extremely well! If you are interested to see the car in action it was featured in an episode of legit street cars when Alex came to the shop I work for. The car is featured at the 46 minute mark. https://youtu.be/P2hTIpWgYdU?si=qWHAtFu8s18avUph

Sorry to all you Porsche die hards hopefully this doesn’t upset you all too much because this truly is one unique ride. Personally I’ve not seen any other swapped Panameras but please let me know if I wasn’t the first! Hope yall enjoyed the read!
This is just what I needed. I bought a 2013 with this exact swap in mind. I am going to widebody mine and maybe a few more custom touches. I may hit you up and get a few tips if you don't mind.

Awesome work!!!
