Default 971.2 Interface/Infotainment

Getting ready to move on from a 2015 Macan Turbo. Latter running great, but after being in my wife's new X5, and spending a lot of time working from my car, I realized I would like an upgrade in infotainment technology. Looking at Pannie 971.2 GTS vs new 2025 4S. Like the handling of the former, and leaning that way, but questioning whether I am going to get to my original goal of an upgrade in electronic interface. How do 971.2 owners feel about their infotainment, and what does the 2025 have that you really long for compared to the 971.2?
Thanks!

Hi,

I have been in a 971.2 4S e-hybrid with Bose for just over a month, having come straight from a 2018 BMW 7 series with the HK sound system. I had connected drive services with the BMW and have the equivalent from Porsche with map updates and satellite images etc, and from my perspective the infotainment and interface is both better and far more intuitive in the 4S, with graphics on a different level.

The Bose sound is significantly better than the BMW HK and also the Bose systems in my prior three Audi A8’s.

Like most car changes, the interface takes some getting used to, but it is more logical than BMW’s. Given how good the Bose is, I am not sure I would appreciate the uplift to the Burmeister system and after hearing the Bose, it was not even on my list of nice to have.

Best to go and test a few and have a play with the interface and features.

I pretty much just use wireless Android Auto and that has been flawless.

The car also has built-in Spotify that my gf likes to use. She's able to play music via that while I'm using AA without an issue. I'm happy.

The connection to the phone app for locking doors and checking general status also works well.

No remote start or remote HVAC controls are maybe the only things missing that I'd want.

The 971.2 and new 25 models have pretty much the same interface. I think they’re identical. I’m getting new 25 GTS but its interface is the same as my wife’s 24 Cayenne coupe. I’ve had 971.2 loaners and from what I remember they’re the same thing.

Looking at reviews of the first 971.2 cars they had the old interface. I’m not sure when the new one came out but my 23 definitely has it and it’s a big improvement.
