Gorgeous color. I am thinking about getting mine painted the same color (though everyone always says never to change colors). How peppy is the 4S compared to the Tesla?
Id be curious how you like the active ride on this.
my car is in port now in California. However no one in cali has gotten cars. My SA said 22. But many people got 13th as a date and that didn’t happen. After I drive it I will report back on the suspension.

at least you got a date. haven't heard anything from my SA. car was at port on nov 12th...still sitting there in san diego with the time to dealership moving back. originally slated 11/29 by what was in the system from my SA. just keeps pushing back. will probably follow up end of week to see if he has any more information...Lucid starting to look attractive! haha. Need a car and can't keep waiting.
I'm finding this thread very interesting as I'm seriously considering buying a Panamera 4S E-hybrid, probably used, but not sure. For the past 6.5 years I've been driving a 2018 Tesla Model S P100D (2.7s 0-60). The Tesla is a great car and I dont have a good reason why I'm ditching it except that I'm ready for a change. I'm really nervous about having less power and also wondering if I will miss the Tesla's regenerative braking.
Chris09-- Was there anything difficult about the transition from your Model S to your Panamera? Teslas are fine cars but IMO are not luxury cars. Was the jump up in "luxury" distinctly palpable?

My Tesla was a 100D, no P, but I’ll do my best to answer your question nevertheless. I’ll primarily focus on areas first which are invariant to the “P”. First off though, let me say- nothing beats a test drive. Maybe even convince your SA to let you borrow a loaner Panamera for a few days to get a more practical experience.
Driver assistance: I recommend changing your Tesla setting to lane-keep-assist and adaptive cruise control ONLY. Disable all the FSD / auto drive features esp with navigation-based turning. Stop using the blinker to make the car change lanes. This will put you on par with the Panamera assistance feature set. Drive like that in your Tesla for 2 weeks to see if you’re happy with the downgrade in autonomous driving. To be honest, I was getting annoyed with some of the new Tesla features in the last ~2 years because they were so buggy/unpreditcable, so I was quite happy when I turned it all off. I don’t miss it.
Storage space: the backseat in the Panamera is roomier than the Tesla. The trunk however feels smaller in the Panamera, but for me it’s primarily a difference in geometry. The Panamera trunk is more narrow (less vertical clearance) whereas the Tesla was more open in all three dimensions. Also, no frunk.
Luxury feel: I am on cloud 9 in this Porsche my deviated stitching, interior lighting, and the classic timepiece atop the dash are **chef’s kiss**. The ability to change the drive style from comfort to sport, quiet to engine roar feels like a covert spy car. It’s fun. And if you’re an audiophile like me, get Burmester. Go listen to it in person. Unless you want to save $6k, then don’t listen to it because you can’t unhear that sort of clarity/quality. Seriously. I was going to opt out until I heard it. I coughed up the extra cash without hesitation.
Performance (not acceleration): Handling is 10x better in the Panamera except for feeling more curb weight on high speed turns. But it’s not a problem.
Acceleration: The 4S is slower at 3.5sec 0-60. If you’re a fan of V8s (I’m not) the Turbo E-Hybrid will beat your P100D.

Ahh thank you for your in depth response. ! As to your first point, I'm already there. I didn't like FSD, so I never upgraded to it. I do have enhanced auto pilot, but rarely(almost never) use it and never do the auto lane changes. I only use adaptive CC. As for sound systems, in my younger days I was an audiophile and had upgraded sound in all vehicles but these days I mostly listen to audio books . I'm glad to hear that Panamera is "fun", that's perhaps what I'm missing with the Tesla. Before the Tesla I had a Mercedes SL550 convertible and that was fun.

Next step will be to take a test drive.
Regarding the test drive - If at all possible, don't settle for an ICE Panamera. We were loaned a 4S for a weekend and gave it back and started looking at BMW. Great car but just didn't have the commuter calm I needed part-time. Luckily, a couple of months later I found myself with two hours to burn (airline delay) and a Porsche dealer nearby so I got to try a Taycan and P4E. Instantly fell in love with the hybrid in commuter mode. I spent 40 years going from Porsche 911s to Lexus/Mercedes (and back) every few years and now I have whichever one I want with the spin of a dial. I use all available techno-assistance (except auto-speed limit ACC) and it works out great for me.

+1 to test drive the hybrid, not ICE. That dial-turn makes all the difference!
Received car on 12/21/2024. Sorry limited exterior pictures, it is raining and overcast here.
Paint is Oak Green Metallic Neo. No micro scratches, swirls, anything. Flawless paint.
Interior is Espresso Club Leather, Eucalyptus trim. This is a hard color to photograph. Does not really match the configurator to me either. It is a deep brown, but other hues. Regardless, love the color and combination with the exterior.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and gets their new cars soon!
Love that green! Really glad your paint was flawless. Consider PPF to keep it that way 🙂 I still can’t believe they scratched mine so badly just by using semi-dirty towels.
Great PAR review too! I responded there on the topic 👍
Man, this car is fast coming from a 2014 428i to this...just wow.
What I love so far
- Proximity sensor has been updated so the door can unlock only the side you are walking too which is pretty cool
- The handling is just so damn awesome and suspension is nice and soft. my wife drove it as well and was like wow i don't feel any bumps. I didn't option with active ride fyi
- Seat massage function is better than Mercedes
- I like the bose sound system and not sure i would be able to tell a difference with burmester. I think it sounds better than the Gwagon burmester that I have sat in. Not sure why. I left surround sound off and tweaked the EQ as I DJ for a hobby and wanna tweak the sound the way I want to. Occasionally audio does cut out for a second when listening to music.
- The driver seat is so comfortable (got 14 way seats instead of 18). I just wish the sides could bolster up like some of the high end mercedes cars when you corner to keep you locked in place. Maybe it's an option? Need to explore.
- Great visibility for what feels to be such a low car. I like that you can adjust the suspension. lift it for driveways, goes back to normal and there is option to lower it a bit more. Not sure how many mm. Haven't had time to read the manual.
- I like that android auto shows directions in one of the wheels on the dash. Very nice to see those items instead of having to look over to the middle console.
- I like precool but I feel when I walk close to car with keys and I don't wanna drive it the precool starts even though I don't want to have it pre cool. I don't even realize it and check the app and it uses it. Still on the fence. I do like it and don't like it at the same time. Hah
Some things that might need to be looked at or reviewed at a later time:
- Did a full battery charge at my house (took over 12 hours) with a 110 plug since I don't have 220 installed. Dealership totally forgot to charge the battery when they delivered the car. SA asked me to bring in the car one weekend and they will do it for me. Oddly enough I I had this weird issue after full charge and maybe someone else might have experienced this...the garage and car and this weird FISH smell when I turned the car on after that long charge. It was coming from the Air Vents but it seems to have gone away for now. Will keep watching it.
- Car always starts in e-power mode which is a bit annoying at times cause I have to remember to turn the dial back to hybrid auto to utilize the gas.
- Tire pressure states fronts are at 41PSI with a +4 number and rear tires is a 44 +9 number. Not sure what that means. I was looking for a sticked on the inside of the door which in my past car had recommended tire pressure but don't see that. Will have to confirm with dealership.
- Trying to figure out how to take the valet key. It's hard to pull. I read you have to take that key and then lock the key in your glovebox. Seems unintuitive for any valet if you do valet your car. Don't see a valet mode in the car either. In my bmw, you would disconnect the key with your keys attached, electronically lock the truck, then lock the glovebox and walk away.
- I found a few spots of some type of sticky substance...i think it was the glue used when wrapping the car up for transport. SA said to bring the car in for a wash again.
- I noticed same thing with InnoDrive that you had Chris09 not accurately detecting lanes but the noise is somewhat better than throwing you back into the lane like audi or mercedes does. I turned off the other features for cruise control like following speed limits which adapts the car speed. Will have to try the longer drive.
- Trip details seem to be confusing as today i saw 31MPG but i swear in hybrid mode, most of the my driving was in electric. I saw some stats for EV mode as well. Will probably reset after i refuel the car next time around.
- Yesterday I had a full battery and noticed if i'm not driving in sports mode, electric side gets used more than the gas. I still have over 390miles of range after driving for a few days. I guess that's good but does that mean I'm going to have charge every night?
- Android auto doesn't start all the time automatically. It can be flakey at times.
- Wireless charger is only 15watt. I have a OnePlus phone and that car charger is 85 watts so I might switch to using that again. Way faster.
Even though there are a few areas of improvement, the drive is just so damn smooth. I couldn't be happier to get this over the Tycan or even the Lucid :P

there are three basic ways to charge the battery. Plug in, hybrid mode with E charge sub mode selected, or Sport(+). Sport + is the fastest driving charge.
You really need to consider a 240V charger. Keeping the battery charged by driving defeats the purpose. Lean in to E driving when you are tooling around town. I get 800-1000 miles per tank because I drive 45% electric.
Yes, charge every night.
Unless they have vastly improved the mag phone charger, get a plug in.
Agree on the Bose. Many do not.
I use three drive modes - E around town, Hybrid on the highway, and Sport on the back roads. Rarely use E hold, E charge, or S+.
Expect to get 30+ mpg on a 150-300 mile trip, and 40+ on a 100 mile trip if you start full charge and pull in empty.
I would never charge away from home unless a hotel had a handy plug. Rather drive in hybrid.
added- if you are measuring mileage with some low charge you are using it wrong. That’s how a non plug in Prius works. You’ll get 22-25 but will end up empty charge very fast.
hth.
