Diagnostics advice needed
Im new to Porsche ownership and have spent a while going thru posts and getting used to it round here. Thank you for so much useful advice and tips!
Ive had my 2010 Panamera Turbo for exactly a year now and have loved every second of it!
Ive a few things Ive had to do recently that came up as advisories at the MOT. Namely, new rear discs & pads and front drop link & lower ball joint which Ive done myself thanks to the help from your various posts.
However, whilst it was in the garage I asked them to run a diagnostic and an absolute load of fault codes came up. I cant work out what happened as the car is still running perfectly but maybe some of the small electric related jobs carried out in the past year might have contributed to the problem. I was wondering whether someone here could advise?
A year ago all was fine and Ive only done 5000 miles since. However, during that time:
1 - The battery was drained flat by me stupidly leaving the ignition on for a few hours one evening. It was boost started by the AA.
2 - Ive changed cornering bulbs on both sides.
3 - The near side rear passenger door doesnt unlock which I believe is due to the actuator. However this does show up as a fault on the diagnostic list.
4 - The Stop/Start function works randomly but I deactivate it anyway. Its always been like that since I got the car.
I dont know if any of these affect the diagnostic system or need a reset afterwards or not?
If I got a mechanic to use a diagnostic tool, would resetting things be a good idea or a complete waste of time? Im not used to how diagnostics work so any advice would be very helpful.
My theory is that once one thing pings up it affects others in a kind of knock-on effect.
Like I said, I find it difficult to believe that so many things could really have packed up when the car runs like a dream.
Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated.
Cheers, Hilton
