Default Does the front camera on a 970.2 turn on automatically?

I did search the forum and some posts say it does.
Mine never does, I just hear the parking sensors beeping.
Is there something wrong? Or is there an option to engage auto-on?

I live in an area with many narrow underground parkings, and mine is an executive model on top of that, so I have to manually go into the car menu to switch it on every time, which is a pain.

well sometimes it doesn’t when I’m pulling into the garage sometimes so I shift into reverse then forward again. In my case that works

Are you saying it normally does? Cause my never does.. Where do I look for the problem in that case?

I believe normally it didn’t work. Just sold the car so can not experiment. Annoying yes, but didn’t investigate other ways to engage it.

Yes, you have to be really close before the forward camera turns on. Also, if making a 90degree to a spot, beeping will warn you about sides, no camera. Camera only on when center front nears an object.

always on in reverse

you should also have a button in overhead console to turn on surround view.

My Panamera is a 2014 Turbo. I have a button on the overhead console, but all it does is turn the parking sensors on/off.

Sometimes the front camera will pull up on its own when shifting from reverse to drive. If the front camera doesn't come on after shifting from reverse to drive, push the "CAR" button on the PCM. This brings it up for me, and it will also stay up when shifting from reverse to drive as long as you are moving slow.
