Cameras and sensors and curbs! Oh my!
Hi,
I see that the parking sensors on my 2010 4S are good at detecting things at bumper level in the sensor range. It seems to not do well on curbs (my car has minor damage at the bottom of the bumper from curb contact by the PO)..
I saw an aftermarket harness that will allow a front camera to be added. I was thinking of adapting one of the many parking sensor assemblies available to sense straight down on the front bumper (and maybe the back too) as a curb warning.
I am wondering then if others have done this. I see that there are protectors that can be added and other things. Seems like prevention would be a good thing.

Try back parking. Pretty much any performance car has something that can get damaged in the front whether it's a low bumper or some type of splitter. Back parking eliminates this problem, plus you have a camera back there.
