I have a '15 Turbo S with 42K miles - no issues...
When I drive on the highway (comfort mode) anywhere from 65- 79 mph, my oil temp varies between 210/214; however, if I go just a few more miles per hour faster and surpass 80 (still in comfort mode), my oil temps slowly drop down to 195. Once I bring the speed back down to 78 or 79, slowly goes back up to 210/214. Oil is fresh, proper level/type, and no other issues...
Do these cars have some internal software that allows more flow through the external oil cooler based on speed? Just trying to understand why this magically happens above 80 mph.
I do understand the effects of air movement, but one or two miles per hour should have negligible effects on oil temp changes of 15 degrees.

A higher oil temp/ engine temp reduce emissions and engine run more efficient. The front louvers will help regulate this. So higher temp is normal.
when you speed up, the computer thinks you will demand more from engine and ECU will open louvers and lower temp. Should see the same in Sport and/or Sport plus.
