New Panamera

Automotive News and S&P Global (formerly IHS Markit) are raising eyebrows at Porsche's "all new" messaging. The AutoNews and S&P articles are talking about how much the "new" looks like the "old" and how they are so very similar in dimensions.
No information has surfaced that supports a new platform, but rather only a facelift.

What is really lame is the news that they will not be making a Sport Turismo version. My wife was excited to order one to replace our 2018 Turbo S, as our CPO warranty is ending soon. We will not be buying a new Panamera if there is no wagon.

The new exterior design is really disappointing - as others have said, busy, clumsy and inelegant. The previous gen is so much better to look at. And yes, I think it's a crime that they're not going to continue with the Sport Turismo. So much for my "dream wagon" in either Mamba Green Metallic or Jade Green Metallic.
I do like the new style interior, although like many people, I wish Porsche would stop adding so much plastic, and I do wish they'd go back to having more physical buttons rather than relying on more haptic controls. Still, the interior is very nicely laid out and is much more minimalist when compared with the exterior changes.
It should be no surprise to anybody that car manufacturers all want to please the Chinese market since it's the largest market for new cars in the world, but since Porsche already offers things like a "Sport Design" exterior package, why not have an alternate exterior package for western markets that isn't so, um, ugly?

Too bad they still refuse to restore the ability to select / configure this vehicle w/ a trailer hitch option, like existed on the early model years. My vehicle NEEDS to have a hitch!
Would LOVE to get one, especially the Sport Turismo, especially a Turbo S version.
Never, ever going to be a hybrid or electric vehicle parked in my driveway. I love the Earth, the environment and humanity waaay too much to follow the lemmings and to take an ostrich perspective on the devastation caused by electric vehicles.

FYI - I had a hitch custom fabricated for my 2014 Turbo S Executive, by a shop that has been doing only that for 40 years. It was about $650 and works perfectly. I only needed it for a bike rack so they built a light version (only rated to tow up to ~1500 lbs).

I understand. I also cross shopped the RS7 but purchased a 2023 Panamera Turbo S. This is my second Panamera as my previous was a 2021Turbo S. I am not sure if Porsche changed anything (don’t believe they did) between the 2021 and 2023 but this 2023 drives different - in a very good way. Sounds amazing. There are still new 2023 Turbo S’s out there and I was able to negotiate a healthy discount. I purchased out of state and was also able to negotiate free enclosed shipping. I decided to go ahead a pull the trigger with a 2023 as was afraid Porsche wasn’t going to release an ICE only Turbo S with the update. Pulled the trigger a few weeks before the announcement and glad I did. Good luck with the RS7. It felt heavy to me unlike the Panamera but the one I drove was not the new RS7 competition which the reviews are quite good.

My SUV or sedan needs to actually tow something as I go to U-Haul and get a trailer when I need to collect furniture or something else big. I also have a small boat trailer, jet ski sized, for a waaay cool classic rowing / sailing dinghy that I periodically transport.
In my case it isn't just the 2" square receptacle, but also the factory integrated wiring, plus the usual changes to stability control.
All this saves my from having to own a pickup truck.

Definitely a step backwards in the styling department.
I liked the 970 model, but I thought the 971 was a really nice styling upgrade. Just seemed more cohesive, timeless and better proportioned. This newest model though looks like some aftermarket **** got bolted to it and it looks too "boy racer", the lower grill is just out of place.
The interior is just way too many screens, I almost think something like that should be illegal. You're going to have drivers staring at their glove box. Also looks cheap.

I just don't want a hybrid anything and I'm really disappointed with the leather and plastic in the new Pano. And I very much like the way the current one looks over the restyle. If I could order a 2023 Turbo S I would. I'm not in a hurry so we'll see. I haven't even driven the RS7 yet but think it looks awfully good on paper.

Looking at the Cayenne, I'd say there is potential for a "Turbo GT" trim.
