Default Engine mounts

Just did engine mounts on a 3.6. It's totally a diy.
16 and 18mm and a small torques for the steering u joint.
Remove the rear X thing, loosen the steering U joint, 16 for the mount bolts and nut for the mount, 18mm for the subframe bolts. The suspension stays and limits the drop of the subframe. I did remove the lower strut bolt but thinking back I probably didn't have to. No the oil pan is not made of plastic. Piece of wood at the rear edge of the oil pan. Lift the engine high enough and the subframe low enough to remove the mount. Hint keep the mount in the subframe and angle the top bolt out then pull up on the mount.
I only did the left side the shop that did the right side refused to do the left side.
With my trial and error it took about 5 hours. I don't see why it should take any more than 2-3.

Well done. Any concerns with suspension alignment, having loosened the subframe which holds the LCA the steering rack?

There isn't much room for adjustment there and I placed the bolts in roughly the same position. The car is sitting on lowering springs and the new owner isn't happy with them so most likely it's will be getting the OEM springs and necessary alignment soon. Right away he said it made a huge difference. Didn't know he changed the transmission mounts and right engine mount before.

I got lazy and paid the shop to do it, but on a 4S it's a little more involved, and working space is limited.

Ran close to 1k total. Lotta scratch, I know, but the job is a lot easier on a lift, and this was the first time the shop had done mounts on a Panamera. He di dsay that the max they would bill me would be what Alldata called for, if they had to go over it would be on them.

Now that I think about it, the shop found something else (part) failed while they were in there.. so total labor costs for mounts was probablly closer to $700.
