Default 971 headlining drop

Hi,

has anyone experienced their 971's headlining dropping at the edge (driver's door on mine) and had it repaired under warranty?

I have seen that there is a technical bulletin (attached) which covers this work and implies that it is a warranty issue, but not sure is anyone has successfully had the repair done under warranty.

I am struggling to get any traction with UK based OPC, so just curious.

Thanks

USA based here. I didn't have this done but did have the sunroof creak TSB/bulletin done by a dealership. I was under CPO warranty and it was not covered per CPO not covering creaks/rattles. The dealership billed 8 hours, they were able to sweet-talk Porsche into covering 4 hours. Also dealership told me the job took them 23 hours in actuality, dropping the headliner is a huge job in the Panamera. I would think this might be considered wear and tear and not covered, but since there is a TSB you are in a better position.

If you are under full factory warranty then you will likely have better luck.

Thanks for the reply. No Porsche Warranty I'm afraid as car is a 2017 build.

Will keep the group posted if I get any success.....

Yes, but I had to fight for it and the dealer tried to make me feel like they were doing me a favour.
Best of luck, it may be easier to have a third party look at it.

Thanks for replying - I was going to get it fixed myself, but as the car was in for recall work anyway, I thought I'd give Porsche a try. They haven't yet said no - they are looking into it, but they haven't (yet) been back in touch

I had the exact issue happen to my 2020 GTS. I brought it in to my US based porsche dealer and they took care of replacing the headliner no questions asked. (they did say it was their first 971 headliner replacement and it was a big job.) It was under warranty.
