Dashboard leather damage
Hi all,
I'll try to keep this short. Picked up my car about 3 weeks ago and found what looks like leather shrinkage from heat on the dashboard. Call the dealer; they say those things are generally considered cosmetic by Porsche and are not part of the CPO process and generally not covered by a warranty claim.
A few people I know (non-panamera owners) have already called BS on that to saying theirs were fixed under warranty and a third saying his was warrantied after some angry phone calls to PCNA. Has anyone with a Panamera dealt with this yet? My car is an '18
Anyone here dealt with this on a Panamera?

Really looking to see if anyone else had the issue and had a good resolution for them (and any tips they have as a result). Being a first time Porsche owner, I don't know the "game" as well as I do other brands. and yes, tints are on the list very soon. I'm in the northeast where they aren't legal, but I'll take a $50 ticket of a $5k dash!

My '17 Turbo looked exactly the same.. bought it from Carvana and the damaged was not disclosed in the listing or shown in any photos of the car. They covered the repair to the tune of $8K - $4,600 for parts and 16 hours of labor with no deductible. Unless the dealer disclosed the damage to you before your purchased it, it needs to be covered.

I went to an upholstery shop yesterday to get a quote. Good rep shop. Had a 928 in the corner working a new full interior and they had just finished up an '01 911 dash. The brought a piece of excess material from that job out to see how it matches up. Grain and color were remarkably close for a 17 year gap. No price yet as they are researching how the front piece comes off of the main dashboard first.
Does anyone know how it would come off or a good place to find that info? My search-foo of the interwebs has failed me.

I would continue to push the dealer and call PNA to register a complaint. That's unacceptable.
My understanding is that the entire front of the dashboard needs to come off to get the top cover off, which is why they quote 16 hours of labor.

Ouch, If the whole thing has to come out just to get the front shroud off, There's not much cost savings to repairing it vs. replacing. The main reason that I'd consider/accept a repair is so that we DON'T have to open up the entire dash - you know, avoid introducing rattles, shakes and electrical gremlins down the road.

I did it..
Not to take too much pride in this but it is better now, needle syringes, glue Tear Mender Instant Fabric and Leather Adhesive, 2 oz Bottle and some patience and pressure.
1. Fill syringe
2. Insert needle to leather (bubble or where it is releasing from the dash.
3. insert glue
4. Apply pressure.
5. Wait till it sticks 5-10mins
6. repeat as needed.
I know, punching holes, you can not see it. The lip for the curved instrument cluster- I could not pull that back, I just glued it down.
