Default Rear Lid Control Unit

A few years ago, I purchased a 2010 Panamera Turbo with 19K miles. Great car. Some minor quirks. My rear hatch has never operated using the power buttons and I've always had to open and close it manually. Not a huge deal really. I'm guessing it's a bad Rear Lid Control Unit. Nothing happens when I push the buttons. Not a terribly expensive part. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with DIYing replacing this unit or can point me to a video or other resource. I've search and have been unsuccessful.

Mine has the same problem but my Indy shop dx'd that my power struts were bad, not the control unit. Several thousand in parts and labor to replace, mostly labor because of how much they need to take apart to access the struts and connections. So I'll live with it for now...

You're in Indy. I'm just west in Greencastle. I'm curious where you take your Panamera for service. I have an indy guy out here that's pretty good but he flies home to Europe for several months this time of year.
