What is this compartment for??

I’m assuming this probably for a tool kit or some roadside flag kind of deal that I don’t have but was curious what this compartment is for behind the license plate in the rear cargo space?

Many European countries require cars to carry Warning triangle. Most likely what is for. But now I know a new secret compartment
