Panamera tiptronic gearbox issues

Panamera tiptronic gearbox issues
Over the last few months I have had an intermittent issue where there has been a delay in changing gear resulting in the car moving after what sometimes seems an eternity. I have generally avoided using the car and it seems now the gearbox cannot decide what gear it needs to select sometimes selecting 6th gear when the car is stationary. My first thought from doing a bit of reading was it probably needed a fluid change as I cant find a record of it being done (car has done 110k miles). However I read the fault codes and I have P072100 Sensor for transmission output speed implausible signal and P073100 incorrect transmission ratio codes coming up. I've spoken to an indy near me and they have said fluid change is pointless and it will be a gearbox rebuild.
Is this likely to be the outcome and should I expect an expensive repair bill?
Also the battery is on its last legs (even when fully charged it struggles with stop start) I know the PCM doesn't like incorrect voltages does this need to be ruled out first?
thanks

First, your car doesn't have a tiptronic transmission - Panamera's are equipped w/ dual-clutch PDK units. You mentioned battery issues and MANY issues are created in these cars are simply due to low voltage conditions. Replace your battery first and see if it helps clear up these codes. Best of luck!

Thats what I thought, however having popped to Porsche to order the parts for a PDK fluid change they have confirmed otherwise as mine has been fitted with a tiptronic based on the chassis number for the car

manufacture date Dec 2011
970 Diesel UK model.
They've also given me a printout of options selected for the car at new and it also states Tiptronic.
I also thought that Panamera's only had the PDK box, but the parts guy in the main dealers said that either box could be selected when it was purchased.

Given the codes, I would be far more inclined to suspect something like either a sensor going bad, or maybe a solenoid valve in the valve body that's sticking. An internal leak due to a failed seal is possible, though, I guess.
I should note, though, that I had some similar behavior from my PDK transmission after I crushed one of the ABS wheel speed sensors in the process of changing a wheel bearing. So, before you go panicking, maybe make sure that you don't have any fault codes in other systems that might be related, like the PSM. You'd most likely also have indications in the little dash screen for this, but it's at least work checking.
