Default Sports Chrono Worth It?

I am looking to buy a 2017 or 2018 Turbo. It is a bit harder to find one with the package, and they go for more. Is it worth it?

If you never drive a turbo with sport chrono you will never know what you are missing and probably be totally happy.... But once you drive a car with sport chrono will be hard to not have it

Isn't it odd for a Turbo to not have Sports Chrono package as factory option? For an entry model it would be understandable not to have it but you are getting a performance car and IMO it is that one must have option.

No launch control without Sport Chrono.

I like it on the Cayenne and it was a must-have option in my search.

Do you need it? No. How often will you use it? What kinda driving do you do? Most days you won't need it. It's fun to have though. I'm not going to lie lol.

In every day driving, I find myself rarely using it. However, I find that I use it 100% of the time when I do the drive & dines with my local PCA club. From the lowered stance, the more pronounced exhaust note, and the aggressive shift points, I find that the old adage is true, "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it." Is it truly needed on the bigger engine Turbo, probably not but it sure makes the driving experience much more fun. Good luck with your decision.

The reason you find Turbo's w/o Sport Chono sitting on the used market is many buyers won't buy without Sport Chrono. So if you ever go to resell the car you will be in the same position.

Same deal with no adaptive cruse and no surround view camera options. Those items are standard on a Kia. Makes it hard to sell the car.

I've been looking as well. Most 17s don't have it due to Launch Vehicle status I guess. I'm looking for Sport Chrono and ACC (LKA is a nice plus too). Can only find 2018s with both. Prices in the mid 80s.

I'm guessing in a couple months from now there will be more inventory for less. The recession is coming. I've heard high end luxury cars are depreciating at 2% per week.

Question...are the sport chrono features available in the 15/16 Turbo or Turbo S? I know they don't call it sport chrono...but is that what sport plus is?

Sport Chrono is available on the 15/16's. It's called Sport Chrono package. But yes you are correct it is the Sport Plus button.

https://vinanalytics.com/ is a great tool to tell you what options it has.

yeah I've been using that for about 50 different cars. It is a great too but is it always accurate? There seems to be some discrepancies with it. For example...is it possible to have the sport chrono dial on the steering column and not have sport chrono listed on vinanalytics? Do you get a dial on the steering column with just "sport package" listed? This is for 971s obviously.

Thanks for your input.
