Ride Height Sensor
Hi Friends!
I have searched and not come up with a specific answer and hope any answers can help the group.
The rear driver's side ride height sensor on my 2011 Panamera Turbo physically broke (arm broke at top attachment point) and I replaced with an OEM sensor. Until the ride height sensor broke, the suspension and heights for Comfort, Sport, and Sport plus worked excellently.
The car's ride height is now too low. Feels like it is always in Sport Plus. I can raise and lower the vehicle using the High setting (to go over speed bumps) and Sport and Comfort will try to adjust to differing heights, but the car wants to settle into a height that feels and looks like Sport Plus.
The question: Does a new ride height sensor need to be programmed / calibrated at a dealer and if so, what would I expect to pay to have it programmed / calibrated? I took the car to a European Repair place and the tech said that he couldn't set the height because there were too many fault codes for the suspension. I am not confident he knew what he was doing... I suggested he cleared the fault codes and then set the heights, he claimed he didn't think he could do that. So, do I need to take to the dealer?
Thank you!

This is a very interesting question. I was about to put my own post up asking how to measure the right height per the factory. I just had all the control arms of my Panamera turbo replaced, mines a 2013. They reset the right height and did a new alignment. The car looks far taller than it used to be in comfort mode. I can get more than three fingers between my front tires and the fenders.
I know on cars like the 996 there was a place underneath the suspension that you measure to the ground to check the right height. I also believe that the proper ride height measurement in the computer for a Panamera Turbo is 404 mm. I have no idea where that’s measured from and two though. I think it would be great if people could post here who are on stock tires with stock suspension what their fender height is from the edge of the fender to the ground through the center of the wheel. That is the easiest way for everyone to measure right height. Yes, tire diameter comes into it but we’re if we’re talking about stock tires we should be OK.
Do your specific question in the computer there are ways through the ODBII port to tell the car, it’s current ride height. My understanding is you measure from somewhere like the edge of the fender to the center of the wheel at each corner, in millimeters put that information on the page in the computer, and then the car tries to compensate to make the car 404 mm. Maybe your new sensor needs to be adjusted accordingly.

Sounds like you need the ride height recalibrated. Can be done with a PIWIS 2 or 3. @ciaka and I have previously described the process. Hope this helps:
