Identify Can Bus ID of temperature gauge on 970
Hi everyone,I’m trying to setup a bench test setup for my 2010 Panamera 4S. Since, can info is quite spare online for newer Porsche’s it took a awhile to gather. Was able to extract some from the car and the remaining ones were tested using a CAN bus sweep generator Arduino code to easily identify the bytes. So, far I have been able to gather quite a bit of data with good success.
One roadblock I have been facing is getting can info on coolant temperature. During the sweep test I was able to verify that the can ID 0x522 is responsible for triggering check engine, high coolant temp, oil pressure warning etc. The same ID is also responsible to get the oil temps and oil pressure gauges moving. But during the can bus sweep test I noticed that the coolant gauge just jumps briefly when check engine light gets triggered. Has anyone here played around and had success with the can bus on a 970 here? I have managed to compile a bit of data so far.
Thanks.

Here is a list of all the Can Bus IDs that I was able to map.

Hi there,
You are welcome. Hope you manage to do some interesting things with it. Unfortunately my 2010 cluster gave up the smoke because I accidentally put power on the 58F terminal of my cluster. Had to then get a 2012 model. Now I think this was an error or may be its a bit different on the 2012 model. But I have changed the gear selection ID to 0x310. Also added a few more IDs I found at the end of the list. So, you can find updated list on the website now.

I would super like this if this forum had that feature, lol.
I can't access your spreadsheet currently at work unfortunately.
Do you have the ID for steering angle and brake pressure? Those are the big two I want to add to my data acquisition.

Sorry I missed the notification for this post. You could try to tap into the can bus lines behind the head unit. But I guess there are more than one type of networks.
