Default Sport Turismo

Hi Folks, I have a 2018 4S sport turismo and personally love it. The dealership told me that only about 10% of Panamera sales in the US are sport turismo’s. I am curious if any of our members here in other countries could chime in on how common/popular they are in other parts of the world. The salesman I talked to at the dealership indicated that almost 50% of the Panamera’s sold in Europe are sport turismo’s.

Just got back from Germany where I rented a Panny and got a ST. Every other car we saw the whole time was a wagon. They love them.

Europeans love wagons while Americans love their SUV's!

Probably has to do with the wagon stigma; there are a few STs here in Ontario Canada. The regular sedan is definaltey more popular. This reminds me that I saw an ST with a 'DAD WAGON" or similar license plate a while ago.

Don't know the statistics but the ST is very popular here. Remember Europe is not one country, cultures vary greatly across the continent and generally the "wagon"-style increases in popularity as you go further north. Also, as you go further north in Europe, the cars are larger as it has a different role in the "family" to play generally, as the distances to cover typically are longer.

For me it was not even a discussion, I wanted the ST the first time I saw it. Love the shape.

The estate it definitely not popular here in North America. They are definitely a lot more popular in the more "outdoorsy" cultural areas like in Washington, Oregon, or Colorado but the SUV is still king. I think much of that is just whats on offer. We had a mk7 Golf AllTrack at our Ontario home for a while and then a V90 (recently sold and very sad) Had an E63 estate until recently when I replaced it with my current Panamera GTS estate. The E63 estate will now officially no longer be sold in the US. Surprises me actually as it's buyer are VERY loyal and I've heard exceptionally affluent on average. Which brings me to the other reason I think we don't get the long roof stuff....cost to consumer. There were a few affordable wagons on offer in recent years but now the cheapest thing I can think of is the V90 cross country, Buick regal, and a Subaru or two. Not exactly a lot of options. I don't think most buyers under AARP age would consider a Buick. Volvo only offers their lifted estate counterparts here now (really shouldn't have sold that v90 dammit) and the Subarus are certainly a lifestyle vehicle. From there you have the heavy hitters like E400/E63, RS6, and the exceptionally expensive Panamera/Taycan. There's choices still there but they don't get lease incentives so for most consumers it's a serious premium.

I own a 2012 4. Love it. I keep my eye out for others and I have seen only 1 ST in the wild. Rare in Ohio and Michigan, I'd say.

@Lowdown -- I saw something similar a while back. Was there a website link or something with this information? Just curious...

Probably from a sales report. I've seen more Sport Turismo's as of late in NJ and NY. I just came back from Italy and 85% of cars were wagons or estates which I love

I just bought a CPO ST and can't wait to get it home. 18 with 31k. And it's a Turbo. Estate wagon, road boat, Turbo Encabulator. It hauls ***. Sounds awesome too.

I just joined the forum and happy to say I just bought an ST as well. An ‘18 Turbo with PCCBs, rears steer and the amazing Burmester stereo system. Coming from an E63S, this car is such a different animal and so much fun!
