Default Plugged drain hole - 2018 P4EH

Over the last few weeks, water has been pooling inside the charge port door on my 2018 eHybrid. I’m assuming that the the drain port underneath the plug itself is clogged. Rereading some previous posts, I understand that weed trimmer cable can be used as a pipe cleaner to open it up.

Before I start poking things into dark places …
  1. Where does this actually drain out of the car? Is it a relatively straight routing or is there a bend or two?
  2. Is there any filter in the drain line?
  3. Anything to watch out for?

  1. Charge port and drain plug

Had the same problem. Thread the small red straw from WD-40 can into the hole, hold it firmly and blow compressed air through straw. Drains behind rear wheel liner. After a few quick burst of air it was clear.

Do not use any form of compressed air to clean drain lines. You can quite easily blow-off the line where it joins up with the nipple on the backside of the drain port or at joints elsewhere along the route. Then you've got much bigger problems.

And trimmer line in hand, I managed to get the water to drain. My only concern is that I couldn’t see any water draining below the rear wheel … while only a couple ounces, I would have expected to see a drop or two.

Now my fear is that I might have punctured the drain line when forcing the trimmer line through … anyone happen to know if the drain line is a rubber hose or similar?

You can't puncture the line with trimmer string. The line is quasi-hard vinyl tube. Much like a fuel line. Flexible, but not easily punctured.

Hello- dealing with this clogged drain line in my panamera e-hybrid. However, I can’t get the trimmer line to go in very far past the nipple. Is there a 90 degree turn right at the top? It seems from reading threads that there are no diagrams. I appreciate any other tips including pouring some type of solution vs trying the trim line or compressed air way… thanks!

I know this an ancient thread of sorts, but I have a similar issue. Can’t see a drainage pathway at all after clearing the top nipple out
