Is the 4S “enough”?

I have a 2022 base and I'm perfectly happy. Granted I'm older now but it's got plenty of get up and go. Even 80 to 100 mph highway passing acceleration is plenty fast.
If there was a RWD S model, I'd have gone that way to keep weight down with a little more power but that's not a current option.

Tough to say what " enough" is. My Panamera S does just fine (especially in Sport mode), but it is not nearly as quick as my Tesla I traded in. But i tlooks better and I like it more, haha. I guess it depends on your personal level of thrill you desire. Take it out and gun it.......

I have a TSEH and don't think I could live with a 4S after having daily fun with the push-to-kill button.

I concur with @misterzero . I have never felt I needed more power than I have in the 4S, and it's lighter than the GTS. On mountain back roads I've not felt the need for more power carving through corners and accelerating uphill. Mine has the Sport package, which doesn't include PDCC but does have Sports Chrono with the push to pass button. If I ordered one, I would add the PDCC although the body roll in severe corners is not bad without it. I've never driven the Turbo Panamera so I can't offer an opinion, but my other car is a 911 Turbo S so I do have a full power comparison.

I don’t have a Panamerica, but I do have a similar weight 21 Cayenne S with the 2.9L twin turbo and really like the motor. It is very athletic and revs nicely. Also goes pretty good - Car and Driver tested a Cayenne S at 109mph in the quarter, which is pretty fast. Ours has sport chrono, which I recommend since it makes it easy to temporarily use sport settings, even including launch control if you are into that (I am not). And as others have said, you can add a flash tune from APR or others or a piggyback like JB4 for another 10-15% horsepower and 15-20% torque.
Certainly if you are a hot rodder and this is your muscle car, spend the money on the V8 Turbo. It is significantly faster. But the fact that you don’t feel you must buy it means you are not certain you need that level of power.
My other car is a 2018 M5 and it is way faster. But I am not bored driving the Cayenne S. If you are into power and want a mid size AWD sedan that is stupid fast and priced more like a used Panamerica 4S, look at a used or CPO F90 M5.

I don't feel many people really utilize the true hp available after 350 hp ? I have a 16 GTS and have'nt really been able to hold full throttle for any length of time ,if at all ! I mostly get my cars used so choices are always very limited . I personally never paid much attention to the Panamera , seeing the one I have on a lot and being a GTS I was drawn into it . If it were a lesser spec model I would have likely passed . I have come to realize when you're ready to make a change many buyers want the extras . The na v8 has a very distinct engine note that I love to listen to. Turbo has more motor but less growl....

Cayenne S (2022, not the coupe) is 4740 lbs.
Panamera base is 4200 lbs or less (2018 single turbo V6).
Pana Base in 2018 did 107 in the 1/4 mile, at 13.3 seconds.

I though the Panamerica at issue in this thread was the 4S, which weighs 4540 lbs, but it is faster than the 4802 lbs Cayenne S at 113 in the quarter vs 109. Specs all from C&D road tests.

Could be you are correct on what the issue is.
I do know that I can't stretch the legs of our 2019 Pana Base on the California central coast without risk of loosing my govt security clearance. Same issue with our 997 MT Base. I can stretch the legs of our 2009 Cayenne Base, a bit, up steep hills, but not the other two.

Just has to be fast enough to satisfy the owner. I could get my license taken away driving a Camry or Accord.
