Plus, you can’t really judge a car by a drive to the nearest traffic light and back. The real test is to take it home, and use it as you normally would.

I’m currently renting a Panamera 4. I actually found an orange one. Every day, I am more in love with this car. Needs more power, though.

In Florida, having an orange car is not all that shocking. It works down here. Lots of bright orange and yellow and lime green around.

The orange also seems to hide dust and pollen better than other colors. The amethyst Panamera I rented showed dust, even after a short drive. I keep my cars immaculate, but I’m not going to wash it every day, and seeing it hazy drove me nuts.

Today, a lady driving a blue one waved at me. There is also an orange one I see every single day. Makes me smile every single time.

That is stunning! Mine is black and I want to jump outta a window every time I'm done driving it because it's dirty again haha.

What are the reasons for the longer wheel base? Are you set on a Turbo S? Have you considered a GTS?

Curious, where are you renting one? Is it Turo or some other supercar/luxury car rental company?

Turo.
Super luxury rental companies cost several times more, it’s insane.
To me, this is well worth it to truly test drive a car if I intend to spend that much on it.

@Shuga, the space is important to me, as is the quality of the ride.
It is said that long wheel base is like driving a Cadillac, shorter wheelbase is like driving a Corvette. Of course, this may be an unpopular thing to say in a Porsche forum.

I have plenty of time to consider all options, and I hope to find an executive to drive so I can see the difference.
I might hate it!

As far as the turbo versus the GTS, torque and power, baby!

As for the black getting dusty, I hear you. It does look classy, though. It’s very tempting to get a black or dark blue one.

Yea, indeed. I was curious if you had found an option other than Turo or a very expensive super car rental place (although I'd be surprised if they would rent a Panamera). I think renting is an excellent option and well worth the money. Heck, even Carmax has a 24 hour test drive now so you can take a car home and really live with it, even if just for a day.

@JPhi1618 There is another advantage, too. You get to speak to the owner of the car, ask questions, and owners are very happy to talk about their cars.

You'll hate me even more when I insist that those pictures do not do the color justice.

The pics don’t show the burnt orange shade (not like the fruit,) nor the incredible metallic sparkle.
It really is a hidden gem, in my opinion.

I will say that depending on where you live, it makes a different statement.
In the Washington, DC area, for example, you could be looked upon as seeking attention and being in-your-face.

Here, in Florida, it would be seen as a fun color. At least, that’s what I think when I see bright cars.
Maybe I’m trying to justify ordering it

$2,250 for deviated leather seat backs.
I do think it’s a bit too Halloween, though…

I'd want more orange. I wonder if they would do it. Or we're stuck with those options that they give us

Welcome to Rennlist and the Panamera club! I second what @Shuga said about color and resale. Don’t worry about it, just get the color you love. There’s a small market for Panameras as it is so this won’t have a huge impact though of course some colors are more popular than others. Turbo S already comes with full leather interior (the standard partial leather isn’t even an option). That means you’re getting all the major parts in leather, like your full dash, top of doors, obviously seats, center armrest, dashboard, etc. There are some other parts that Porsche let’s you get leather on that I personally didn’t care for (like the area around the door sills or between the steering wheel and instrument cluster (who even sees that!). But you can check it out under the “Interior - Leather” section of the configurator.

I totally agree with @Shuga about coming up with a theme. Orange exterior with beige interior and red seat belts really doesn’t go. You need a color combination that complements or contrasts but does not conflict. If you want orange exterior, then I think your best bet is black, chalk, maybe cream or the dark saddle brown too. If you want it to be more special you could do deviated stitching. Nothing against the black and Bordeaux red, I got it and absolutely have fallen in love with it (wife convinced me to go for it when I was hesitant) but my exterior is chalk. I think red would clash with orange. Oh and club leather is just a more premium/high quality type of leather. That’s it (and not worth it to me).

@orca15 nailed it with power steering plus (with the most awesome rear-axle steering) that’s a no brainer option especially on how much you’re spending and yes, will make your wheel very comfortable and easy. My BMW M wheel is definitely stiffer than my Panamera with power steering plus. The actual look of the steering wheel is very subjective but I’d go with something that matches the rest of your interior. The classic brown wood does scream old money S class rather than sporty Porsche. The anthracite wood that @orca got is nice, or carbon fiber, or just the GT Sport wheel that I got (it was an upgraded option for me on my 4S E-Hybrid but maybe that’s standard on Turbo S).

I don’t get the hate either. Granted I’ve only had my 2022 for 6 weeks but people seem to love it. At red lights, people have given me a smile and thumbs up. In parking lots, my wife and I notice from a distance that people stop, stare, and talk about it! It’s been all positive so far.

I also agree about the executive. It’s really designed for someone who’d sit in the back and wanna be chauffeured around (hence, the name executive). The standard size has plenty of room in the back, especially for kids. The executive is pointless to me and as stated, worse for resale if you care about that. The car is already long and heavy. Why make it longer, heavier, and slower? And mess up the look in my opinion. But definitely drive an executive before ordering one or you may regret the feeling of having a boat behind you! Maybe you won’t and you go for it though!

It’s cool that you’ve rented one to drive. Base and 4 really don’t have enough power for the Panamera IF one wants a sports car with the performance to back it up. 4S or higher and you’re golden.
