Default 3rd facelifts?

Just found this article.

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/porsche-facelifts-the-panamera-again-for-2023-ahead-of-full-switch-to-electric-178499.html

I just secured GTS order slot in CA. Hmmmmm.

GTS and Turbo will be changed?

Yep, me too. Now, as you indicate that you are, I have to ponder. I love the looks of the current model, just as I prefer my 991.2 over the 992. The pics provided, thank you by the way, don't help that much in pushing me one way or another. While a facelift is not necessarily totally unexpected it complicates the situation. I bought my current '18 Macan GTS towards the end of the model cycle and still haven't figured out how I feel about that vs waiting for the new model. And now, here I am again. Grrrr

This 971.3 should come out end of 2023 for model year 2024. Looks like Porsche will do with the Panamera what they did with the Macan. So hardly any difference. Now that Panamera got the new PCM 6 with the 2022 model, I can’t imagine how the PCM would change. But I do wonder if the interior might get some kind of refresh as with the new 971 generation in 2017, Panamera got the new interior console (the haptic tough buttons, etc.) first before it got into the 911, Cayenne, and now Macan. Given it’ll be very slight changes though, I think one would be disappointed to wait so long for a slight refresh.

Typically, if you order in late Summer (like late July or August).

So when is this coming out? I've been dragging my feet ordering a new Cayenne trying to wait for the new one to come out. But now I want to see what this one will look like. Uggh

971.3 will debut as 2024 model year and will probably start arriving in late 2023. From the photos, it looks like it’ll look very similar. Back looks the same. Front will probably have a more aggressive grill like what they did on the new Macan.

Face-lifted Cayennes should come for 2023 model year and start arriving late this year though, right?

I doubt it only because the spy photos look so similar to the 971.2 so it’s likely a third facelift like what they did with Macan.

The article’s claim that range would go to 60 miles is quiet doubtful. Previous increases in the Panamera/Cayenne batteries have only increased range by about 5-10 miles (battery pack size by about 4kw each time). There’s no way they’re going to all the sudden double the battery size/range. Likely another small improvement because they basically have to keep the physical size of the battery the same (as they have in the past) but improve the efficiency and density of the battery due to better technology and engineering (again, as has been the case in previous times).

Yeah but remember the Macan is "All new now" So I wouldn't doubt that this is considered a New Gen all together. Look at the Cayenne the 957 is in reality a face life of a 955 but it's considered a new Gen.

Porsche considers the “new” Macan as the third iteration of the first generation Macan.

@Shuga, I agree it’s not normal but I can’t see how they’d call a Panamera that looks exactly the same a third generation. The new .3 they pulled with the Macan may be the transition stage until they go full EV. I guess we shall see.

@hmmwv79, the 2023 is likely going to be exactly like the 2022, which got the new PCM 6 as the big upgrade but if you’re fine waiting almost a year, then always good to get the newest year model at that point.
