Question Tire Chains

Has anyone been able to get proper tire chains or cables for their Panamera? I have 295/36-ZR20 tires and have purchased two models from the Peerless brand according to their size chart and customer service, but neither of them fit (too small). Porsche dealership wants over $900 but that's a bit ridiculous. Has anyone had any luck?

Are you in the Bay Area and going to Tahoe on rare occasion? It's one of the only use cases I know of for chains. All season tires will most likely suffice but if you're driving in real winter weather and in snow nothing will beat a set of dedicated winter wheels/tires. I run the Michelin Pilot Alpin on 19" wheels for my PTT and they are fantastic. Chains are a pain in the butt IMO - best of luck finding a solution!

Completely agree with @skiracer. I have 20” Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 winters on OEM Panamera Sport wheels. Car is an absolute beast in the snow and on ice. At SunPeaks now and Whistler a few weeks ago. No problems at all.

I'm in Southern California but I drive up to the mountains. Sometimes it does get sketchy driving on snow and ice without chains. But although I rarely have to, sometimes California Highway Patrol demands you put them on. So now I haven't been able to travel because I can't find chains that fit my tires. Haven't seen anybody with a Panamera with chains or I would ask them where they got it.

I would not use actual chains on the Panamera, but these look like an affordable solution - the only negative reviews are from folks that didn't purchase the needed tensioner. No experience w/ this product but I'd consider it if I were in your position:

I don't drive my Panamera in the nasty weather. However, I did have a RWD Jaguar XJR and proper snow tires made all the difference. The performance all seasons were like toboggans in ice or snow. I mounted Bridgestone winter tires on seperate wheels and the Jag thought it was a snow cat! The difference was astonishing.

Never been a fan of chains other than for true emergency use. If roads are so bad that you need chains, you need to be in a vehicle more suited to those conditions.

CHP will still demand that you have chains on you even with winter/snow tires. They don't always demand that you put them on, but they want to see some before letting you pass (sometimes).

They always smile and wave my wife on by in her Audi A6 Allroad without stopping.
