Yes. I’m going to change all the cells once I get the time. I’ve already gotten all the way to the high voltage connectors in the hybrid battery to wire up a grid charger. Basically, the battery was free from the chassis but was still in the car. It’s not that hard to remove the battery. It’s just a bunch of panels that needs to be removed. My plan is to get the cells from alibaba which will run about 2-3k USD and swap the old cells with new cells. I attached video I found on YouTube that shows the disassembly of the Nimh battery.

this is the battery cells

My 2014 just converted to a Porsche brick and I’m desperate to get this thing back up and running. Hoping you had success.

I was hoping it was one of those two issues but one of my battery cells is apparently legit overheating and faulty 😢

I’ve got a 2014 hybrid panamera brick too…. About 30,000 miles after a dealer replacement of the original original high voltage battery battery pack!!!

Have we decided to start a class action suit yet?

That's Porsche superior German engineering backed by superior denial of any issues and superior bending over their customers. I was bummed to sell my pristine S hybrid when I did, but I realized they are ticking time bombs. Except for my 914 2.0 which is from anoter era, I will never go back to the Porsche brand or any other overrated, German breakdown machine.

That's one data point...here's another. 25 or so years of Porsche ownership, with one new and 5 used cars from 2-15 years old, and I've replaced exactly two parts due to failure - an alternator on a 2000 911 at 12 years old and a frunk lid strut. I've owned Jeeps for a similar period and replaced everything from transmissions to multiple window motors. Porsche has been by far the most reliable brand I've owned except for Lexus.

How many of those cars were plug-in hybrids?

Just the one. But you changed the crux of the question, which was about “German breakdown machines.”
