Yes the mpg has been degraded a lot plane to purchase the battery pack from China. But they asked me to take pictures bcos their pack is 2012, and mine is 2011.
Hopefully it is the same. if it not then I have to: purchase battery cell and replace the bad one as showed in Youtube everywhere.

Could you link me to the China battery and YouTube for changing cells? Mine discharges really fast now.
Porsche has a 8 year 100k mile warranty on the hybrid battery. I was over miles and year but was able to get them to do a goodwill warranty. They checked out the car and said they battery wasn’t bad enough for them to change it.

Thanks for posting this helpful doc. On the subject of 8yr battery warranty, is that all year models? My 2015 Panamera S hybrid just went past the CPO warranty at 6yrs. Is the battery actually covered 2 more years? I didn't hear the dealer mention this when I had it serviced just before losing the 6yr warranty.
I'm concerned because I took it for service after two battery related cooling pump codes popped up. Dealer cleared them and was unable to recreate them.

in youtube a lot of resources how to replace the cell.. I assume panamera also use prismatic type of cell 7.2V x 40 set (same as Prius gen 2 above)
you can also buy the cell in aliexpress (assuming it is the same, I havent really confirmed yet, this just assumption now, only after I open the Hybrid pack then I can confirm my theory)

Lithium is prone for explotion when to much current or over heat. (this reffer to the theory of Lithium battery vs NiMH)
NiMH is safer but prone to fail or degrade...
anyway if you find a solution how to upgrade to Lithium, kindly share the reference.

Ive also was looking into reconditioning the NiMH battery pack by fully charging it to 100% then discharging it with a grid charger.

Higher voltages and currents can injure and kill you in much more convulsive and crispy ways
A big risk with working on these battery systems is the risk of explosion and lack of understanding of how easy it is to short these systems causing explosion and melting your face off
Check YouTube for videos of single cells exploding into a 2000c fireball after been shorted then imagine that times 104 cells.... it will melt your face off

Panamera E-Hybrids 2012-13 are NiMH, 2014 and later are Li-Ion NMC. Lithium and NiMH cells are not interchangeable because of their battery specific charge and load systems. Even Li-Ion cells have chemistries that are specific to their charge and load systems...... You can (very) easily explode lithium cells with the wrong charge rating i.e. a cell with a 0.5C rate will explode quickly if you attempt to charge it a 5C rate

Good point I should have put a big warning at the start of this topic that PHEV battery systems (even depleted) are High Voltage (technically mid voltage) & High Energy so the message to all is...

I was speaking with my son who has several advanced degrees in electrical engineering. While I rarely understand half of what he is saying, he was very clear about the explosion risks without proper equipment and knowledge.
I have personally see the aftermath of a 12v regular car battery that exploded (fortunately as a 2nd hand witness after the fact). I imagine one of these blowing up is the nuclear version of that.
