I replaced my battery about month ago or 2. Didn't code it. My screen is reading up to 15 volts while driving. I like that it has this charge but would like to be sure that NOT CODING the new Diehard battery isn't doing any bad things. 15 volts does seem high while driving. Thoughts?

Mine NEVER gets that high. I replaced the battery a few months ago and used a cheap code reader to code the new battery. It was easy.

When I've been working on the car with doors open, light on, etc and the battery gets drained a bit, it charges above 14 volts right after I start it, but quickly drops down to somewhere in the 13's but I never see 15 volts.

Some of the newer high performance battery types are quite sensitive to charging voltage. If you're going to get into DIY maintenance, why not do it correctly?

Well, I coded in my battery yesterday, and I got a successful message after inputting data on my Icaarsoft POR V 2.0. Guess what.....no change in the voltage. Still showing 14.8 and highest 14.9 volts. Anyone else having that issue. Mine is a 2010 4S. Please join in and share what you have.

We just took a 3600 mile drive over the last 2 weeks in my wife's 2018 P 4 with original battery. In the mornings it would read in the 14's for a period of time, but eventually settle into the 12's when highway driving. I never saw 15.

Any advice on which scanner to get to code for a new battery? The dealer wants almost 1K for a new battery and coding. A bit exorbitant when I can get a battery with the same specs for $200.

Or do you need to program?
I'm curious, if computer learns that old battery needs different charging, how long would it take computer to learn new battery if you didn’t program?
