First sharp turn shaking and banging
Hello guys,
My daily routine make me do a sharp turn a few hundred meters after getting on the road with my 971.
At this sharp turn, the front axel sticks and bangs and shakes for a second, and after this all is well. It's like the car would have a non-slip differential, like a 100% locked diff...
Dealer I bought it from, actually finished my sentence when I first told him about this, claimed all Panamera's he has sold have had the same phenomenon....?
Is it so, or am I looking at something I worrying?

The way it is with performance tires, POS design. Will get worse colder it gets. I put on all season tires which is vast improvement, eliminates the “crabbing”, and perform well as perfromance tires for driving I do.
So you either change your turning style to less radius, learn to live with it, or put on all seasons.

You are experiencing the ACORN EFFECT also known as the Ackerman Efffect. Its the tires! You will need to put all season tires on or you will continue to have this terrible occurance every time you make a hard turn. The colder it gets the worse the tires will become assuming your tires are summer tires. High Performance Summer tires are not designed to perform in cold weather. Cold meaning as much as 60 degrees if you call that cold. So depending on your tire size - 19, 20 you'll need to match best you can to OEM tire size. I just bought Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. The backs are 10mm less wide (285 vs OEM 295) but they are all season and not too expensive. However they are almost gone everywhere as they are replacing them with the All Season 4 which are out in limited sizes right now as they are newly released. They also are priced higher than the A/S 3 + by $80 per tire. So if you have 19s you may be able to get them or the Conti DWS 06 which are great all season tires too. Good luck.
