Default License plate screws 2012

While replacing my plate frame I see the plate is mounted by 2 self tapping screws into the panel with no nuts or anything else holding it. Does this seem right?

That is how my 970, macan and my 971 have been. Not sure why Porsche does this. . .

Same with my 971 and my 991 was like that too.

I wonder if you could buy an Audi bracket and attach it with automotive accessory tape to avoid need to have holes in the body work. I don't know if the bracket is smooth on the back.
