Default 1st Porsche Help

Afternoon guys,

New member here although being browsing this site for a while now. Looking to own my first Porsche so being doing months of ‘research’ on sites like this amongst others. Thought I should ask the views of experienced heads on here.

Looking at a used 2019 Panamera GTS at a dealership. I understand it is a corporate demo car. It's got about 4300km on it.

Dealers asking for CAD 163k for it with original MRSP of 172K original price on configurator. Comes with 4 year original manufacturer warranty and 2 years extra CPO. Appears original warranty starts from just December 2019.Being a neophyte, appears to me that 4000km on a car with a warranty that’s only 2 months old sounds high. Am I being paranoid or misreading the warranty start date and mileage.

Here are the options

Base - Panamera GTS
0L - Carmine Red
0N5 - Rear Axle Steering I.c.w. Power Steering Plus
1N3 - Power Steering Plus
1P7 - Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) Including Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus)
43X - 20" Panamera Design Wheels Painted In Satin Black
4M1 - Cupholder Covers (front)
8A4 - Surround View Camera System
8JU - Tinted LED-Matrix Headlights In Black Incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
8M1 - Rear Wiper
9VL - BOSE® Surround Sound-System
G1G - 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
GK - GTS Interior Package In Carmine Red
KS1 - Head-Up Display
P51 - Premium Package Plus
P55 - Assistance Package
Q1J - Adaptive Sport Seats (18-way) With Memory Package
QE1 - Storage Package
QQ1 - Ambient Lighting

What do you guys think, I have hinted at a 10% off their asking price and waiting for them to get back to me. Is this an ok deal or should I be aiming for a bigger discount or indeed looking at building/buying though the wait is a tad annoying?

Thanks in anticipation.

You should be paying less than that, it isn't even 10 percent on what is a used car that is a year and a half old by model year starts. One way to get a ballpark on what you should be offering is to research how much they're giving on trade for a 19 of similar build. I think you're going to see that they should be going down quite a bit on that. If I were you I'd also look at the Turbo's sitting on the lots; in ST guise they're going for huge discounts and the sedans are significantly reduced as well. To give you an idea I got 20 percent off on a corporate demo with 1200 miles and that was a 4S, the further you go up the ladder the more room you have to negotiate.

The reason the warranty started in December is because the car was owned by Porsche and therefore not registered for a while. Then when they sold it to a dealer the dealer became the first owner in December 2019 and that activated the warranty. The car is older than its warranty start date.

If you want to confirm the warranty date call Porsche Cars North America and select customer service from the Menu. The agent can answer questions about the warranty.
