Steering wheel full lock front end issue
Few days ago picked up mint CPO ‘14 S fully loaded, sport chrono, air suspension, pvt, etc. A really nice car. Can feel the weigh difference from my 911, and much larger/longer, but different car for different use.
Driven it couple times and enjoyed the ride. Last night went to rodeo, pulled into parking garage, had to turn the steering full lock to get into parking spot. All of sudden banging and bucking from front end. WFT?? I thought damn front end was breaking. It was unlike anything I’ve experienced, thought well just wasted my money. After 5 days ownership car has major issues. 911 been rock solid for yrs, this pos lasted 5 days. It did it again when getting out of parking spot at full lock. Worried front end would fall off on drive home, but car drove normally.
Before calling dealer to take in, I surfed to see if a common issue. Lo and behold front end not broken, basically design allows wheel to turn too far and those really wide wheels don’t turn, they’re pushed across the surface which causes all the hoopla. Not very good design it seems. Others have this happen or am I overlooking a real mechanical issue? Anything you’ve done other than just not turn steering to full lock?

Thanks for validation. Only bought Panny to drive 800 miles in comfort and speed to lake house once/month for a week and not eat tires on 911. Drove home last nigh, cussed and thought should have just bought one of the last damn new Alltrack’s left (Son has one and it’ll be a cult car in 10 yrs, really nice set up). However every time i’d have driven it I’d have kicked myself for not getting Panny. Car is fantastic other than the “acorn” effect. Pitiful when all they’d need to do is put stop on linkage to limit travel.

It's a design choice in favor of a tighter turning radius, a far tighter radius than you would use with normal road driving so this is a parking only issue. It is also affected by tread block patterns. I noticed my P Zeros have a far more noticeable effect than do my Michelin PS4S tires. The PS4S effect is about a quarter of what I experience with the P Zeros.
Agee. Tire choice makes a HUGE difference with this issue. Was very bad with my Pirelli P-Zeros (straight summers) when temperature dropped below 12 degrees Celsius. Better with my Michelin Pilot Super Sports (summers). Does NOT happen with my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (all-seasons) or my Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4’s (winters). All are 20”. My car is 2014 4S.
Panamera full lock front wheels issue
Hi all
i have a 2020 Panamera Ehybrid Turbo S.
I have recently noticed that if I turn steering full lock I get a juddering sound from front wheels, like the tyres are coming off! Its my first winter with the Panamera, has Pirelli P zeros.
Is this normal or should I take it for a service?
thanks!!!

It's normal. One name for it is the Acorn effect. See https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1051...o-excited.html
I changed to all season tires and will never go back to summer performance tires. No more WTF hops in cooler weather. Great handling, quieter, longer tread life, and unless tracking car summer performance tires not worth it IMO.
