Default Fix a Flat Can

I was wondering if the fix a flat can that came with my 2016 Panamera has a shelf life. Hopefully I never need it but it would be nice to know it will work if I do. Any thoughts from anybody?

Check the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual pouch. I believe it calls for replacement every 4 years..

Yes it does, but I wouldn't worry too much. BUT when the dealer was adding to my CPO and that is an item they need up-to-date in order to extend the warranty.. I called BS and they kindly "installed" a new one for the "inspection" and replaced it back once the warranty was applied....

Yep cost me £65 to replenish with a new can (mine is a 2016 Panamera) before Porsche would give me two years warranty. I say give me, I actually mean relieve me of £2,450 for two years warranty. I am certain it’s for the road side assistance side of the warranty

Just know if you ever use it, the tire is pretty much trashed as you can't patch repair many tires after its used. So use it in a bind, but not because you just don't want to wait for roadside!

A better DIY option is to get a tire plug kit. I find them very difficult to use, but it's better than nothing if you are stuck somewhere. I recently was able to plug a tire after a nasty nail and it held just fine, but did have a slow leak. I dealt with that for a few months and finally had that plug replaced and a patch added for good measure. Note that a regular tire store may not replace a plug due to liability reasons - but they also won't deal with a tire full of fix a flat either. But you can find a good cash shop to do a proper patch if you use a temporary plug. Probably not as likely if you use the fix a flat stuff - plus it very well might ruin the TPMS which is an expensive item.
