Default Reversing paddle shift button: anyone tried it?

I've seen aftermarket solutions to add paddle shifter to the multifunction steering wheel,
but my intuition suggests that simple swap in wiring would make these possible:
1. Push to downshift and;
2. Pull for upshift.

Has anyone tried this?

Does the sport wheel option provide that kind of shifting (with the full paddle shifters)?

If so, just installing that wheel option would be WAY easier.

2 reasons:

1. I really like the multifunction feature but sport steering wheel doesn't have it.
2. Paddle buttons aren't terrible when it is done the right way. Non-M SMG cars had this for push-downshift and pull-upshift and I loved how convenient it was to shift using one hand.

It's only two wires involved (one for downshift signal and the other for upshift) so it isn't terribly hard to solder it. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience doing this.

1. Agree that it is a shame on the paddle shift wheel there is no MF. I guess they assume if you are using it to shift like that less on the wheel to get in the way is better. I already nearly always turn one of the ***** when reversing or one hand full-lock turning!
2. I agree that it shouldn't be that hard if it is a basic switch signal.

Keep us posted if you give it a try!

I like having up/down on both sides. It makes more sense since the shifters move with the wheel. I really wish Porsche put the paddle on the steering column and they didn't turn with the wheel. Even Maseratti does this.

I'm so used to the way it shifts now, I don't even think about it, but at first it took getting used to. It also took getting used to the key location...... I think you should just deal with it and chalk it up to Porsche ownership!
