2010 Panamera 4S - Help with prepurchase options
All -
I am looking at a 2010 4S that is strangely optioned in my experience - but otherwise has qualities I have been seeking. Most Panameras I have driven have the Sports Chrono and 16 point seats. This one does not have SC and only has 9 point seats. I haven't sat in the 9 point seats and just realized I was not properly using launch mode on the 4S with sports chrono I test drove. In fact - in sport plus mode I was missing my manual 996 for off the line acceleration. I suspect it is a matter of personal preference - but what are your thoughts of going without sports chrono package and having only 9 point seats? Also, anything else that changed that I should be considering on a 2010 vs. a pre-2014 model?
Thanks in advance for your replies! -

I have a 4S without the chrono and during acceleration tests I had the car do 0-60 in 4.3 seconds measured on an accelerometer by GOPRO. The test was done by placing the car in first gear, in sport mode, standing on the brake pedal, bring the revs up to all I could get ( 2000+ rpm) and releasing the brake while flooring the accel. Done a straight level road at sea level. Did calculations based on weight and time suggesting the engine was putting out about 450 hp, this is believable because Porsche is conservative with its engine specifications. We did this only once with 2 people aboard as I didn't want to evaluate the trans durability. The bottom line, why a Sports Chrono ?

Sport Plus can be added as a retrofit. No Chrono, of course, but the features are there.

Many thanks for the responses. I stumbled upon the retrofit when looking at Suncoast's site after I posted - seems that purchasing a car without sports chrono is a reversible concern. Any other known differences between a 2010 and other pre-2014 models. My 951 was first generation which actually had some benefits - just concerned that not all of the kinks had been worked out yet.
